Kyrie Irving had been a sneaker free agent for over seven months after Nike cut ties with him in December last year. There had been a lot of speculation as to which brand Irving would sign with, and it turns out to be ANTA.

Irving signed a five-year deal with the Chinese sportswear brand and was also given the title of Chief Creative Officer at the company. He took to Instagram to share his excitement over it and claimed the partnership is for all those who want to change the world.

“I AM Proud to announce that I am Partnering with Anta as Chief Creative Officer.

It’s an honor to welcome them into my A11Even TRIBE as they have welcomed me into the Anta FAMILY. As Chief Creative Officer, I will push our teams domestically and internationally to unite like minded Trailblazers who have the vision to create and build their craft to transcend the footwear/Apparel industry for generations to come.

This is truly a full circle moment that I will not take for granted nor under appreciate given the many obstacles it took to get here. This Partnership is for all of those who want to change the world. Join me on the journey.”

Irving has the ability to sign players as well as other collaborators to ANTA. Considering his large following and the tremendous influence he holds, he’ll certainly help grow the ANTA family substantially. His goal seems to be to bring in like-minded individuals in an attempt to transcend the industry in itself.

Kyrie Irving Claimed His Shoes Can Compete With Jordan, LeBron, And Kobe’s

By signing Kyrie, ANTA has landed an athlete who has had one of the best-selling shoes. When a user on Twitter asked who had the highest-selling signature shoes after Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, and LeBron James, the Dallas Mavericks guard threw his own name in there.

Irving claimed that Nike made over $2.6 billion in revenues by selling his shoes in the last seven years and added that his shoes were one of the few which dominated that competitive market. There is little doubt that these new ANTA shoes will sell extremely well too.
