LaMelo Ball Says He Was Born Left-Handed But LaVar Made Him Change To The Right Hand: “Our Pops Changed Us Because When We Eat At The Table, Lonzo And My Pops Are Right-Handed So Me And Gelo Was Hitting Them. He Changed All Of Us So We All Right.”

LaMelo Ball keeps surprising the NBA community with revelations about his father and the way he took his sons to pursue a career in the association. So far, two of them have made it to the league, Lonzo, and LaMelo, while LiAngelo is part of the Charlotte Hornets’ G League affiliate squad.

LaVar did everything he could to guide his sons to the association, even changing their shooting arms. However, that didn’t happen because of a basketball matter, but something more innocent. Talking with Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium, Melo revealed how his father made him use the right hand.

The youngest Ball brother explained that LaVar and Lonzo are right-handed, while he and Gelo are the opposite. Since he and Gelo constantly hit his father and the oldest brother while eating, LaVar made them change to the right hand.

“Our pops changed us because when we eat at the table, Lonzo and my pops are right-handed so me and Gelo was hitting them. He changed all of us so we all right.”

In the end, that worked out for Melo. He can use both hands to dribble the basketball and attack the rim. It was really hard at the beginning, no doubt about it, but that helped him later in his life and career.

LaMelo is currently trying to lead the Charlotte Hornets to the NBA playoffs for the first time since 2016. They currently rank 9th in the Eastern Conference standings with a 16-17 record. The Hornets aren’t going through a sweet moment right now, but Melo is still confident they can turn things around.

They have a young and exciting team for the future. Led by Melo, Charlotte will have a chance to compete in the East, but fans will need to wait a couple of seasons before that comes to fruition.
