NBA fans are always entertained by all the things happening around the league almost every day. Whatever you think can happen in this competition, will happen, including referees going online to defend their performances.
This appears to be the case of Eric Lewis, who was recently accused of having burners to defend himself on social media. Everybody has had something to say about this, including LeBron James, who can’t believe this is actually happening.
“This Eric Lewis true??? ,” LeBron tweeted on Saturday.
This Eric Lewis 💩 true??? 🤨
— LeBron James (@KingJames) May 27, 2023
Just like James, many fans can’t believe this is true, but that’s yet to be determined by the league. This all started when Lewis’ email was tracked down to a Twitter account that is now disabled.
Lewis’ brother came in the referees’ defense, alleging that he was in charge of that account, apologizing for the way it was used, and vowing to delete it. Just when things couldn’t get crazier in the league this season, we have a totally unexpected yet entertaining situation with a referee.
The NBA Is Now Investigating Lewis’ Alleged Burner Accounts
Meanwhile, the league has launched an investigation into this, trying to determine whether this account actually belonged to Mr. Lewis. It’s unclear if the league will punish him for going online and defending himself if this is proven to be true.
This shows that some people are tired of all the bad comments about him, not only players. Kevin Durant popularized this practice in the NBA after he was caught using burners to defend himself and criticize his teammates in Oklahoma City.
Lewis isn’t as popular as KD, but he might be done with all the noise and people criticizing his performances. This is a crazy story, and not even LeBron James can believe it.
This league never ceases to amaze us and everybody in it is here for the show, no matter who the performer is.
