NBA Fans Debate If Jimmy Butler Winning A Championship This Year Would Be Greater Than Dirk Nowitzki Leading Mavericks In 2011

Jimmy Butler, in just 4 years at Miami, has established himself as one of the best players in the history of their franchise. And now, Miami is aiming to become NBA champions for the first time in 10 years. And NBA fans are wondering where an accomplishment like this would rank.

NBA fans on Reddit debated whether an NBA championship wins for Jimmy Butler and the Miami Heat would be a greater achievement than Dirk Nowitzki leading the Dallas Mavericks to the NBA championship in 2011. Fans were split on the issue, with most saying Jimmy’s team is not nearly as strong as Dirk’s Mavs.

IF Jimmy Butler leads this Heat team to a title, will it be considered a greater feat than what Dirk did in 2011?

While there is a debate to be had about Butler’s Heat and Dirk’s Mavericks, that conversation will depend entirely on the Heat actually winning a championship. With the way Butler is playing, the Heat winning it all is a distinct possibility, but no one can presume anything till it’s over.

Jimmy Butler Could Become A Heat Legend

Jimmy Butler and the Heat are 2 wins away from going back to the NBA Finals. While Butler is the only bonafide superstar on the Heat, they have a solid roster that is stepping up at the right time. Much like Dirk Nowitzki, Butler has a small point guard who is a former All-Star and is contributing at a higher level.

Butler and the Heat, on paper, are the weakest team left in the NBA playoffs. But based on the hustle and grit that Butler brings to the court on a nightly basis, the Heat are able to win games. Charles Barkley gave Butler the advantage over Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, saying they don’t have that dog in them as Jimmy does.

Will Miami win the NBA championship? If you ask Jimmy Butler, the answer would certainly be a resounding ‘yes’.
