Carmelo Anthony On LeBron James Surpassing Karl Malone On The All-Time Scoring List: “Take Your Hat Off To LeBron For Being Able To Do What He’s Done In His Career So Far."

LeBron James was able to surpass Karl Malone on the NBA's all-time scoring list this weekend, and it was a truly historic milestone for the 4-time NBA champion. Only one player in history sits above LeBron on the list; Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. And LeBron will be eying him over the course of his final few years in the NBA and becoming the NBA's all-time leading scorer.

One of LeBron James' closest friends and current teammate Carmelo Anthony spoke after the game about LeBron James' performance and his longevity. He noted that all anyone can do right now is take their hat off to LeBron James for the way he has been playing over the course of his career, and what he has been able to achieve during this time.

"Take your hat off to LeBron for being able to do what he has done in his career so far."

LeBron himself reflected on this achievement on social media, noting how surreal it is for him to have surpassed the Mailman on the all-time scorer's list

Regardless of how big a legend LeBron James is in the sport of basketball, there can be no denying the magnitude of what he has been able to achieve. James has never been considered a natural scorer, so for him to be second on the NBA's all-time scoring list is truly quite remarkable, and something that cannot be understated.

While LeBron James will be thrilled about surpassing Malone, he will not rest there. One of LeBron's goals has been to surpass Kareem Abdul-Jabbar on the NBA's all-time scoring list. And given how he has been playing at this advanced stage in his career, it is all but a formality that James will be able to do so within the next 2 seasons he plays in the league.
