LeBron James Voice Support For Kyrie Irving In Angry Tweet

2 Min Read

LeBron James and Kyrie Irving endured an ugly breakup years ago when Kyrie Irving demanded out of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Despite their past, however, even James can’t help but stand up for the guy in regards to his current situation with New York City mandates.

All season long, the city has had strict COVID-19 protocols, which prohibited the star guard from playing in home games without the vaccine. Much of those protocols have been lifted, including the city’s mask mandate.

Unfortunately, the rules still limit Irving’s ability to play. He can only stand on the sidelines and watch.

No matter your feelings on the matter, the whole thing is a bit confusing, and even the NYC Mayor was confronted by confused citizens on the matter.

Amid calls for Uncle Drew to be allowed to take the court again, LeBron James became the latest to voice his support in a reply on Twitter.

Here’s what he said:

“FACTS FACTS FACTS!! It literally makes ABSOLUTELY ZERO SENSE!!! They say if common sense was common then we’d all have it. Ain’t that the truth. #FreeKyrie,” James tweeted.

LeBron James himself faced some controversy over his vaccination status. Back in September, he caught some heat for refusing to condemn the unvaccinated.

“We’re talking about individuals’ bodies,” James said. “We’re not talking about something that’s political or racism or police brutality, things of that nature. We’re talking about people’s bodies and well-being. So I don’t feel like, for me personally, that I should get involved in what other people do for their bodies and their livelihoods.”

Of course, there’s not much that LeBron, or anyone else, can really do about the mandates.

It’s all in the hands of the people running the city, and they don’t seem to be in a rush to expedite Kyrie’s return.

There’s really nothing left to do but watch and wait to see how it all plays out.
