Luka Doncic is one of the best players in the NBA, and he is well-known for being one of the best offensive engines in the entire NBA. He can score at a high level but is also proficient at setting up his teammates. Currently, Luka Doncic is averaging 28.0 PPG, 9.2 RPG, and 8.7 APG.

There is no doubt that Luka Doncic presents a tough matchup for any defender in the NBA. Patrick Beverley has recently explained why Luka Doncic is hard to guard, claiming that he’s very physical but “flops at the same time”.

His intelligence. He’s physical as f*** and flops at the same time, which is the same thing I do…. Swipe at me, “oh he’s trying to kill me ref, get him, he’s trying to kill me.”

He’s the exact same, like he initiates the contact and hits you… It’s not muscle with him, and that’s no discredit to his body or anything. That’s just how he’s made, it’s kind of that flabby solid type… you can’t really guard him physically the way I want to guard him.

Patrick Beverley clearly respects Luka Doncic, and he once claimed that Luka Doncic is the hardest player to guard in the NBA. However, in the same statement, Beverley claimed that he was “prepared” to guard Luka Doncic as well.

So far, it’s been Luka. Easy… But I’m prepared for his a** too. I’m on his a** this year too.

There is no doubt that Luka Doncic is a one-man army when it comes to the offensive side of the ball. He can elevate a team’s offense to insane levels, and there’s a reason that the Dallas Mavericks currently sit at 5th in the Western Conference.

We have not yet seen Luka Doncic win a series in the playoffs though, but perhaps that will change during this upcoming postseason. Luka Doncic is one of the best players in the NBA, and any team featuring him will have a chance to win on any given night in the playoffs.
