Luka Doncic may have not had the ideal ending to Game 2 against the Phoenix Suns, but he sure did have a magnificent start. The Dallas Mavericks ended up losing to the Suns 109-129 after an incredible fourth-quarter run by the Suns that saw the Mavs get outscored by 14 points.

However, despite the scoreline indicating a 20-point loss, the Mavs went into the second half up by 2 points. That was despite the Suns going on an early run and putting the Mavericks down by over 10 points in the opening minutes of the first quarter. The catalyst of the run? None other than Luka Doncic.

Doncic had an electric first half where he scored 24 points on 14 shots, making 9 of them. He was scorching them from three-point land, making 4 out of 7 shots. After hitting a three towards the end of the half on DeAndre Ayton, Doncic looked over to the crowd and gestured for them to sit back down as there was nothing to cheer for.

Doncic loves interacting with the fans during games and has a tendency of a true hooper by reacting to big situations the way he does. However, his fan interaction experiences turned greatly for the worse after he got into an altercation with a fan during the third quarter.

The Doncic run in the game will easily be forgotten by the Chris Paul run we saw in the fourth quarter, where one of the old generals of the league taught the 23-year-old Doncic a lesson in humility.

The Mavericks are down 2-0 in the second round and will be hoping to turn it around as the series goes back home to Dallas. Hopefully, Doncic’s home fans can rally him and his team to make this a competitive series.
