Stephen Curry continues to rewrite the record books, reaching an unprecedented milestone by becoming the first player in NBA history to hit 4,000 career three-pointers.

His longtime teammate, Draymond Green, couldn’t help but marvel at the feat, realizing just how absurd Curry’s numbers are in comparison to his own career totals.

On The Draymond Green Show, the Warriors forward shared his reaction to Curry’s historic moment, putting it into perspective with a self-deprecating joke.

“I told him, ‘4K three-pointers, that’s nuts. You scored 12,000 points in threes. I don’t have 12K points in my career.’”

Green, known more for his defensive impact, leadership, and playmaking, has never been a prolific scorer. Throughout his 12-year career, Green has 7,538 career points, a lot shy of Curry’s total from three-pointers alone. While Draymond’s impact on the Warriors dynasty is undeniable, his remark highlights the unmatched offensive firepower that Curry has brought to the league.

Curry’s 4,000th three-pointer came early in the third quarter, off a pump fake over two defenders, marking yet another iconic moment in his legendary career. The Chase Center erupted as the Warriors paused to acknowledge their leader’s historic feat, and NBA fans on social media were quick to react.

Curry’s milestone was the latest reminder of his greatness, but even at 37 years old, he shows no signs of slowing down. In his 16th NBA season, he is still putting up elite numbers, averaging 24.3 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 6.1 assists on 44.7% shooting from the field and 39.6% from beyond the arc.

Beyond Curry’s individual success, the Warriors as a team have been on a tear, winning 15 of their last 17 games and climbing from outside the top 10 to the 6th seed in the Western Conference with a 39-28 record. A big reason for this turnaround has been the arrival of Jimmy Butler, whose defensive tenacity and playoff experience have transformed Golden State back into a contender.

With Curry still playing at an elite level, Draymond anchoring the defense, and Butler adding another layer of toughness, the Warriors seem primed for one last deep playoff run in the Steph Curry era.

While 4,000 threes seemed unfathomable just a few years ago, fans are already speculating about how high Curry can push his record before he retires. Some believe 5,000 career three-pointers is within reach, especially if he plays another three to four seasons.

At this point, nothing seems impossible for the greatest shooter of all time.
