Stephen Curry mesmerized this young fan who attended a signing event. Upon seeing Curry up close and personal, the young child remarked that Curry was the greatest point guard of all time, looking at him in awe. He asked Curry to sign his jersey, to which he happily obliged.

“That’s like the best point guard of all time, man… Mr. Curry, would you sign my jersey?”

Curry seemed to be amused by seeing the young fan reacting to him the way he did and had a big smile on his face when interacting with him. For Curry, this must have been a vindicating experience and a reminder of what so much of the sports world is about.

While the accolades and the money are great for so many players, the connection with the fans is perhaps the most important thing in sports. Curry has amassed a massive fanbase in the last few years, thanks to his spectacular play and championship success in the NBA.

Curry is coming off what was an incredible summer, as he helped lead Team USA to the gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics. He was absolutely sensational with Team USA, especially in their final two games against Serbia and France respectively, helping make some massive shots to seal the win, and subsequently, the gold medal.

Curry will now return to the Golden State Warriors, where he and the franchise are expected to have a mediocre year. The Warriors haven’t done much to replace Klay Thompson and Chris Paul leaving and failed to land a star player through a trade, despite their best efforts.

Despite this, Curry chose to sign a $62.6 million extension with the Warriors, that keeps him with the franchise till 2027. This deal puts him on an elite list along with LeBron James and Kevin Durant as players who have earned $500 million from on-court salaries.

Stephen Curry Engaging In New Ventures

Stephen Curry said after signing his latest contract extension that the goal for him on the Warriors is still the same – to keep winning. He may find that a little difficult, considering the roster. However, the Warriors know that their roster can’t currently win the NBA championship, so they might execute a trade during the season to add a star.

Off the court, Curry has begun expanding his business portfolio. He recently announced that he is launching a children’s superhero graphic novel, which he will have a great deal of input on. It is evident that Curry is trying to broaden his horizons and do more off the court.

Players often are forced to think about what they want to do when their careers are over. But recently, a lot of players nearing the end of their careers have begun preparing for life away from the court.

LeBron James recently commented on what he wants his legacy to be, noting that he doesn’t just want to be remembered for his stint as a basketball player.

Perhaps Curry will continue expanding his media portfolio, as he’s launching a graphic novel, and recently made an appearance in a movie. But his focus will shift to the new NBA season, which begins next month.
