LeBron James has been a dominant force in the NBA forever at this point, but there are still those who believe he isn’t all that skilled. Kwame Brown recently claimed that old-school players wouldn’t have trouble with LeBron at 39 because his game hasn’t evolved, which was downright ridiculous. James has now seemingly reacted to those comments by throwing shade at Brown and all his haters on Instagram.
“Another game of clips of me just running fast and running people over to the basket! No skill.”

The clip that is being referred to there, was from when LeBron scored 57 points against the Washington Wizards in 2017. It can be found below and I don’t see how anyone can say that the four-time MVP has no skill after watching it.
Is LeBron’s game as refined as that of someone like Kobe Bryant? No, it isn’t and I believe that’s where those comments about him not being skilled come from. The fact of the matter is, though, that you don’t excel on the court for as long as he has without being extremely skilled.
In the 2023-24 season, LeBron averaged 25.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, 8.3 assists, 1.3 steals, and 0.5 blocks per game for the Los Angeles Lakers while shooting 54.0% from the field and 41.0% from beyond the arc. The 20-time All-Star has clearly lost a step compared to when he was younger, but he is still able to put up numbers like that.
Over the years, we have seen so many good to great players who relied heavily on their athleticism see their production dip significantly when they lost a step, but that’s not been the case with LeBron. The reason? Skill. I wish all the haters would actually open their eyes and realize that, but they probably never will.
Kwame Brown Has Taken A Lot Of Shots At LeBron James
At this point, it’s safe to say that Brown is a certified LeBron hater. He has made one too many ridiculous statements at this point about the four-time MVP. Earlier this year, Brown stated that James is only called the GOAT because he controls the media.
“LeBron is the GOAT because LeBron controls the media. No NBA player think LeBron is the GOAT. I don’t give a damn how much you slice it, how much you dice it. He has great numbers, whatever he has the best, whatever.”
“No NBA player believes that with the heart of hearts. The only ones who believe that is the ones that want a job.”
“They know LeBron’s not the GOAT, it’s for clicks and views. The same reason why ESPN talks about him all the time, same reason why any other station talks about him all the time.”
“Same reason why they won like eight out of the last nine or nine out of the last 10 is because LeBron James is a cash cow and you’re going to talk about him. You want to see him play. You want him in the playoffs.
Prior to this, Brown had also slammed LeBron by calling him a stat-padder. I am not exactly sure where all this animosity has come from, but it’s sad to see. With all the attention that comes Brown’s way from making such comments, I doubt he is going to stop anytime soon either.
