Entering the 2021 NBA season, there was little faith that the Phoenix Suns would be anything more than a mediocre team of young misfits.

But over the last few months, and in these playoffs especially, they have proven the world wrong. Leadership from CP3 and breakout seasons from Devin Booker and Deandre Ayton have the team squarely in the hunt for the title.

And now, as they stand just a handful of wins away from a trip to the Finals, they are considered the favorites to win the whole thing.

The Suns’ path to the Conference Finals has not been easy. In Round 1, they had to contend against LeBron James and the defending Champs in a matchup they were considered underdogs in.

After winning that series, they went on to play the Denver Nuggets, who have the reigning NBA MVP on their team.

It remains to be seen what more they will face, but they definitely deserve some credit for how far they’ve come.

And while nobody can say for certain how this season will end for them, the opportunity is now for them to take home the title.

We will see soon enough if they’re up for the task…
