Rich Paul On The GOAT Debate: “If It’s About The Rings Then It’s Bill Russell… LeBron Has Been In The Finals For Half Of His Career.”

LeBron James' agent and best friend Rich Paul recently claimed the King is the NBA GOAT based on his Finals appearances.

Rich Paul has defended LeBron James against all the people who constantly try to get things away from the King. As LeBron’s agent and best friend, Paul is always ready to back up James.

During a recent conversation, the Klutch Sports founder talked about the GOAT debate, saying that when it comes to rings, Michael Jordan isn’t the greatest of all time.

“I think Michael [Jordan] transcended the sport [basketball]. And I think LeBron [James] brought a consistency to the sport that maintained his relevancy. You see all these guys on TV every day, ‘Oh, it’s Michael and it’s about the rings.’ If it’s about the rings, then it should be Bill Russell because he got 11 [championships].

“LeBron’s been to the finals half of his career. That’s pretty hard to do. It’s just a matter of who has the microphone. I’m not gonna be arguing with guys in the barber shop, guys on TV every day because this is who they think is the GOAT.”

He also talked about analysts not giving LeBron his due respect, saying that Jordan’s 6-0 record in the Finals is all they care about.

“If you’re only counting 6-0 in the finals, we get that. … There’s an older generation on TV every day with those slots. They’re never gonna give LeBron that credit.”

It’s really hard for LeBron to change the media narrative about the GOAT debate, but when it comes to fans, the Los Angeles Lakers superstar has a lot of support behind him. This has always been a complex discussion, whose best response is simply to celebrate the greatness and stop comparing legends.

LeBron James Is On The Quest For His 5th NBA Championship

Meanwhile, James gets ready to face the NBA playoffs with his Los Angeles Lakers. The King and Co. are getting hot at the right moment, which is why the Memphis Grizzlies should be extremely careful with them.

Even if one anonymous head coach has the Grizzlies beating the Lakers in five games, you should never sleep on the Purple and Gold, who already proved they can turn things around and make some noise.
