Stephen A. Smith has huge expectations for Stephen Curry ahead of the 2023 NBA playoffs. After an incredible run last season, Curry remains hungry and he knows the competition will be hard.

The ESPN analyst believes that Curry will be a problem for rivals, just like Kobe Bryant was in the past.

“Think about the matchups, think about what we’re talking about here. And I think Snoop [Dogg] is right because I think the most Kobe-like in these upcoming playoffs, I’m gonna go with the reigning defending champion who’s the reigning defending Finals MVP, who’s the greatest shooter God ever created, who watched as everybody counted the Golden State Warriors out, ’cause they couldn’t win a game on the road most of this season. They got all of their horses back. I think Stephen Curry responds and he reminds the world, ‘I’m about to put a few people to sleep, send them home.'”

The Golden State Warriors are getting ready to face the surprising Sacramento Kings in the first round of the playoffs. This is an interesting scenario since the Warriors didn’t have the best season, and the Kings had a terrific campaign, but Golden State won the championship last year and Sacramento just ended a 16-year playoffs drought.

This appears to be a very even series, despite their regular-season records. Their respective head coaches know each other, and their players are hungry to get more this campaign. Curry is ready to unleash his power and take his game to the next level, but everything could change for the Warriors if their struggles on the road continue.

Golden State Warriors Are Being Overlooked In The 2023 Playoffs

The Dubs didn’t have the best start to the season, and things didn’t change for them with games. They couldn’t win consistently on the road, which can be a huge issue against the Kings.

This situation made a lot of people count them out ahead of the playoffs, but you should never doubt the heart of a champion. Last season, the road to the championship was cloudy, and this season is even worse. The Warriors can get hot at the right moment and make another deep playoffs run, but we need to wait and see how this postseason plays out for the Dubs.
