Damian Lillard stirred the pot with a series of comments earlier this week. The Portland Trail Blazers superstar sounded like he was tired of his situation and is demanding his team make moves as soon as possible.

Many thought this was an ultimatum, but Dame, through NBA insider Chris Haynes, recently clarified his remarks.

“I wanna win right now. The Blazers tell me that they wanna win right now, so for right now, I’m going to trust them that we’re all on the same page and that they’re gonna do things to improve this roster, to put this roster in position to be a championship-contending team,” Haynes said on behalf of Dame on Friday’s edition of #thisleague UNCUT (15:30 mark).

After all the noise that his statement made, Lillard had to come clean and say what he actually meant with those remarks. Haynes adds that Dame doesn’t want to stay in no man’s land, being a part of a mid-team. He wants to win in Portland, but if they can’t put together the right team to compete for the title, it’ll be hard for him.

He has been linked with moves to the Miami Heat and Philadelphia 76ers, but as usual, it’s way too early to predict what will happen to him. The Jerami Grant trade didn’t work for the Blazers, and now they need to find new targets to pair with Lillard.

Jaylen Brown has been mentioned as a potential candidate to join the point guard, but it remains to be seen if that actually comes to fruition. Meanwhile, Lillard is waiting and perhaps studying his options if the Blazers fail to compete for a championship.

Damian Lillard Posts Cryptic Message On Social Media

The former Rookie of the Year is tired of all the comments about him and recently took to Twitter to send a cryptic message. This can be seen as Dame going after the people who are always trying to tell him what to do.

He’s tired of all the external noise, and even if the Blazers failed to surround him with the right talent, Lillard will wait before making a final decision on his future. While that happens, plenty of teams in the league are getting ready to make a move for him.
