Shaquille O’Neal and Dwight Howard have never been good friends. The pair may be from different eras of the NBA, but the 6 years their careers overlapped in the NBA caused a rivalry between the two that still exists today.

Shaq has never had nice things to say about Howard publicly, which means he’s said a lot of negative things over his decade-long broadcasting career with TNT.

Shaq was talking on ‘The Big Podcast’ with Candace Parker where he criticized Dwight Howard’s current stint in Taiwan as his Taoyuan Leopards currently have a 3-11 record.

“They have a losing record. Somebody sent me they have a losing record. I ain’t losing to nobody in Taiwan how about that. How do you have a losing record in Taiwan? Come on now. You can’t have no losing record in Taiwan.”

Howard is clearly past his prime but has been putting up big numbers in Taiwan, averaging 24.0 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 6.1 assists. Clearly, it isn’t enough as his Leopards are not having a good season despite playing a lineup with three 7-footers.

Is Dwight Howard’s NBA Career Officially Over?

Many people had assumed that Howard went to Taiwan after he didn’t get a contract in the summer, but would welcome the opportunity to return at any point. However, his stint in Taiwan is giving NBA teams more reason to steer clear of bringing Dwight back into the NBA.

Howard had a sensational career in the NBA and is in the pantheon of the greats from the 2000s. He was the most egregious snub on the NBA 75th Anniversary Team, as his dominance during his prime is often underrated.
