Scottie Pippen has made headlines once again after he attacked Michael Jordan, once again, trying to make MJ look bad while discussing his career.
Pippen went off on his former teammate, claiming that Jordan was ‘horrible’ before he landed in Chicago in 1987. Scottie said that Jordan was selfish, made bad decisions and only cared about himself. Well, stats and accolades show that this is an awful take, as Jordan was so much more than that during his first four years in the league.
First season: All-NBA Second Team, led NBA in total points (2,313), finished sixth in MVP race.
Second season: Missed 64 games. Scored 49 and 63 in the playoffs against the Boston Celtic.
Third season: 37.1 PPG, All-NBA First Team, finished second in MVP voting.
Fourth season: 35.0 PPG, won MVP and Defensive Player of the Year award.

Jordan’s stats during those seasons confirm that he was anything but a horrible player. In fact, he could have been considered a top-3 player in the NBA, going toe-to-toe with Larry Bird and Magic Johnson despite his youth.
1984-85 NBA Season: 28.2 PPG, 6.5 RPG, 5.9 APG, 51.5 FG%, 84.5 FT%.
1985-86 NBA Season: 22.7 PPG, 3.6 RPG, 2.9 APG, 45.7 FG%, 84.0 FT%.
1986-87 NBA Season: 37.1 PPG, 5.2 RPG, 4.6 APG, 48.2 FG%, 85.7 FT%.
1987-88 NBA Season: 35.0 PPG, 5.5 RPG, 3.2 APG, 53.8 FG%, 85.0 FT%.
Even with their current beef, it’s crazy that Pippen makes this ridiculous take to try to diminish his former teammate’s success and the person who always said he was who he was thanks to the support of Scottie.
Michael never said anything bad about Pippen, and Scottie never hinted his relationship with Jordan was bad at all. Everything changed after the 10-part documentary on the Chicago Bulls dynasty ‘The Last Dance’ premiered, which made a big difference between Pippen and Jordan.
Scottie has criticized Jordan for treating his teammates poorly, suggesting he only approved this documentary to magnify himself and convince people that he’s the GOAT. Now Pippen is pushing for LeBron James as the greatest to ever do it, which is odd considering that he once claimed he would never pick another player as the GOAT than Michael Jordan.
MJ had a better career than LeBron, and the accolades speak for themselves. He also beats Scottie in these categories, especially in the playoffs, showing that there was, there is and there will be no better player than Michael Jordan in the NBA.
Pippen seems to be offended by the way he was portrayed in the docuseries, but his constant attacks against Jordan are simply sad. He is so much better than this, but he won’t have the time to make amends with Jordan or Phil Jackson soon.
NBA Fans Had No Mercy With Scottie Pippen’s Take On Michael Jordan
NBA fans had a field day calling out Pippen for his remarks. The point forward raised so many eyebrows around the league that everybody criticized him for his delusional take.
Pippen has changed his personality when talking about Michael, and it’ll be incredibly hard to see these two getting together again. What once was perceived as a great friendship turned out to be a one-sided beef, as Pippen is the only one attacking Jordan and trying to bring him down.
This has become sad, but Pippen isn’t changing his mindset anytime soon.
