Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks secured a spot in the 2023 NBA Playoffs after dominating the Miami Heat as visitors, 116-105. The Hawks were on one, getting a 20-point lead at some point in the game.

Even though they were destroying their rivals, they lived some tense moments, including Trae Young having some words with one assistant coach who happened to be Nate McMillan’s son.

It’s unclear what was said by Trae, but it was obvious that he wasn’t happy while addressing Jamelle McMillan. This only fuels the rumors about Young’s stranded relationship with his former head coach and now, apparently, with his son.

In the end, things cooled off, and Young led his team to a great win, clinching the 7th seed in the Eastern Conference, and earning the right to go against the Boston Celtics in the first round of the postseason. Young finished the game with 25 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists, leading the way for the Hawks.

Trae Young Reportedly Had Beef With Nate McMillan

This wasn’t an easy season for Trae and his team since they endured a couple of rough moments along the way, especially Young’s reported beef with Nate McMillan. It all started when they had an exchange that prompted Young to miss one game

McMillan was fired in February, and everybody tried to put the blame on Trae. He defended himself against those attacks, but seeing his recent activity, one would think he might have a problem with his coaches.

This drama is the last thing the Hawks need right now, as they have to face the Boston Celtics in the first round of the postseason. Hopefully, this was nothing, and Trae and Jamelle can continue working.

We’ve seen several altercations between people of the same team in the last week, with Young and McMillan adding their names to this infamous list. Whatever it was, we hope it’s part of the past now, as the Hawks have a big challenge in front of them and no time to worry about anything else.
