One of the biggest trades of the offseason has been that of Jordan Poole going to the Washington Wizards. Poole, who was once considered the future cornerstone of the Golden State Warriors franchise, was traded to the Wizards in exchange for veteran point guard Chris Paul.

Many have speculated that the punch from Draymond Green to Jordan Poole, which led to their strained relationship, was the reason for Poole being traded.

But Warriors insider Jason Dumas believes that it was actually Poole’s poor relationship with Steve Kerr that led to his trade. Poole was unhappy with his role and was vocal about it, and Steve Kerr decided he didn’t want to deal with it anymore.

“I honestly think the relationship between him (Jordan Poole) and Steve was more of what got him traded than the relationship with him and Draymond Green. I just think Steve was kind of fed up with the fact that Jordan was kind of huffing and puffing that he wasn’t in the right role for him”.

“I think that had more to do with him being moved than that punch. That punch didn’t help and his and Draymond’s relationship wasn’t great. But I think Steve was more fed up than anything”.

Jordan Poole was visibly frustrated during his last season with the Golden State Warriors. Poole looked disinterested, annoyed, and his body language was off at multiple points during the season. Perhaps a change in scenery could allow him to thrive.

Jordan Poole Will Have His Spotlight In Washington

Poole’s relationship with Draymond Green is flagged as the reason he got traded. Green even tried to mend fences with him, but was rejected by Poole. But Draymond was not the only veteran on the squad who had problems with Poole, as a report suggested other players on the team were not happy with him.

Stephen Curry doesn’t seem to be one of these players, as he wished Poole the very best in his new stint with the Washington Wizards, and hoped that he would succeed there.

Last season, Poole averaged 20.4 points, 4.5 assists, and 2.7 rebounds for the Warriors. Now, as the Wizards’ primary superstar, he will have the chance to improve his numbers and take the next step in his NBA career.
