Jimmy Butler Explains How The Miami Heat Can Beat The Los Angeles Lakers And LeBron James In The NBA Finals

The Miami Heat are in everybody’s mouths right now. They’ve been playing outstanding basketball all year long and have only gotten better since the restart of the season. In fact, they’ve only dropped three games in their entire playoff run.

The Heat finished the season as the 5th seed in the Eastern Conference but sure hasn’t played like it. They swept the Indiana Pacers in the first round, almost swept the top-seeded Milwaukee Bucks in the second round, and then got past the Boston Celtics in just 6 games in the Eastern Conference Finals.

Now, however, they’ll have to endure their biggest challenge of the season thus far, as they’ll have to go toe-to-toe with the red-hot and well-rested LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and the Los Angeles Lakers.

And, when asked about what they’d need to do to beat them, Jimmy Butler was pretty straight-forward, claiming that they’re not worried about anybody but they know that they’ll have to be flawless to beat LA:

“It’s going to have to be damn near perfect to beat the Lakers. We’re capable of it. We’re not worried about no 5 seed or no 1 seed, we only worry about us,” Butler said.

Coach Erik Spoelstra will have to come up with a plan to stop the man he made even better. Stopping LeBron James, even at age 35, is way easier said than done, but the Heat have enough wings and bodies to throw at him. Then, there’s Anthony Davis, which is a whole different story.

But if a team has proved that they can match vs. the very best, that’s the Miami Heat, so we can definitely expect an NBA Finals for the ages.
