The Perfect Trade For The Clippers And Wizards: Paul George And Lou Williams For Bradley Beal

The Los Angeles Clippers suffered one of the biggest choke jobs in recent memory. Up 3-1 against the Denver Nuggets with a chance to face the Lakers in the Western Conference Finals, they had multiple leads vanish in three straight games resulting in losses. We simply cannot remember a time when a team literally threw away a Western Conference Finals appearance for no apparent reason.

At least it seems that way. Now, the Clippers need to analyze what they must do next to get back on top. They still have Kawhi Leonard, but everyone else should be expendable. That includes All-Star and former MVP candidate Paul George. Doc Rivers was recently fired, and George should be the next one to go in a blockbuster deal that brings a budding superstar to the Clippers to pair with Kawhi Leonard.

Here is why the Los Angeles Clippers should trade Paul George and Lou Williams for Bradley Beal.

Chemistry Issues

NBA Rumors- Kawhi Leonard Is The Only Untouchable Player On The Clippers This Offseason

The chemistry of the Clippers were in doubt all season long. Rumblings came out that Lou Williams, 6th man of the year extraordinaire, was unhappy at the way George and Leonard were given the proverbial “superstar treatment”. They could train when they wanted and basically ran the organization despite having an old school vocal coach like Doc Rivers. In other ways, players were jealous.

Rather than holding onto a broken experiment next season, it might be time to solve chemistry issues. This is not to say Williams is a bad teammate or that George doesn’t care about fairness in the team, but the Clippers need to move away from sour apples that did not build team culture. Look at the Los Angeles Lakers, they are playing together and the best player on the team works harder than anyone else. The Lou Williams-Lemon Pepper fiasco just added to this, and it is unacceptable behavior for a star player for his team. George coming out and stating how the expectations were not high for this season should be the nail in the coffin.

Bradley Beal Is Destined For Los Angeles

Bradley Beal

Bradley Beal is born to play in Los Angeles. His high scoring style and ability to rain jumpers from the sky means he is a bonafide All-Star and a player capable of making an All-NBA Team in the right circumstance. Beal averages 30.5 PPG in a sensational season with the Wizards, who simply need to rebuild. John Wall is coming back and the pair of them do not get along. Wall is the franchise player and can’t be moved because of his grotesque contract, so Beal should be sacrificed for the sake of their own team chemistry.

Bradley Beal also recently bought a house in Los Angeles, clearly making it obvious he enjoys residing in that area as much as possible. Whether that means he wants to force a move to LA or not, what we do know is that it certainly makes it easier for Beal to get there. Bradley Beal does not have to do much convincing to think about LA, as there are very few people who would choose Washington over Los Angeles.

New Blood… Beal Is The Best Player In The Deal

Bradley Beal

In terms of pure basketball, Beal is the man for the Clippers. His partnership with Kawhi Leonard and even Montrezl Harrell means the Clippers focus their rotation on three key stars. Kawhi is the dominant two-way player, Harrell owns the middle, and Beal is the wing scorer who will certainly never lack in confidence. Whatever happened to Paul George is his own business, but his poor shooting in the Playoffs is something Beal will never worry about. Beal is the type of player to let loose and find a way to get a bucket, he is that lethal.

Kawhi Leonard did not have his best postseason performances this season, but he certainly didn’t have enough help. There were too many distractions in the Clippers camp. Doc Rivers seemed to have needed a change, and his “superstar” teammate simply let him down. With Bradley Beal, you know that he won’t go down without a fight. Nobody in this trade deal had a better season than Beal, who averaged 30.5 PPG, 4.2 RPG, 6.1 APG, and 1.2 SPG on 45.5% shooting.

By solving chemistry issues, getting new blood in the team, and adding the best player in the trade deal; the Clippers are back on track to winning an NBA title next season.
