Zion Williamson is impressed with his new teammate Steven Adams. The New Orleans Pelicans young star is about to team up with Adams on the court and he’s ready to face this challenge. The 20-year-old recently spoke about the first time he saw Adams in practice and Zion was just blown by Adams’ strength.

Adams is ready to help the Pelicans compete this season and seeing Zion’s reaction to his first practice together, the future is bright for the Pels and their new big. Talking with reporters, Williamson left no room for doubt.

“Like y’all said, Steven is strong,” Williamson told media.

“I thought I was strong, but seeing it up close, on the same team now, it’s crazy. Steven is really strong and he’s a great basketball player.”

Adams is one of the most reliable big men in the league. He was great with the Oklahoma City Thunder and now it’s time to do the same with the Pelicans, who have a very interesting young core. Led by Zion and Brandon Ingram, New Orleans has a big opportunity to shine this next campaign. With the help of Adams, the expectations are even higher for them.

“Find me a 4 and 5 together anywhere in the league as physical as those two guys,” said Stan Van Gundy before the start of training camp. “When we made that trade I said one thing I know for sure is that you may come in here and shoot the ball great, you may find a way to beat us, but you’re not punkin’ the New Orleans Pelicans ever with those 2 guys next to each other.

They have the hunger, the players and the coach. These Pelicans won’t win the NBA championship next year but they surely have a very good shot at making the playoffs this campaign.
