After spending the last three years with the Los Angeles Clippers, Montrezl Harrell surprisingly signed with their crosstown rivals the Los Angeles Lakers. The current Sixth Man of the Year award winner surprised everybody when he decided to join the Lakers this offseason.

He seemed to be very committed to the Clippers’ cause last season but now things have changed for Harrell, who is ready to start a new chapter in his life and career.

The big man lands in a team that was already dangerous and his addition, along with other signings, makes the Lakers a real threat for the rest of the league. Something that makes this team stand out over the rest is their leadership. They have LeBron James as their leader, one of the most easy-going players in the NBA.

Harrell knows this is an advantage for him and his teammate. He praised LeBron for his leadership, claiming that it’s not hard to play with one of the greatest players that have ever stepped foot on an NBA court.

“It’s not hard to play with one of the greatest players to play this game,” Harrell said.

“I definitely think his leadership is a tremendous skill to have… We just got great leadership in the locker room overall.”

After the Clippers’ choke job in the bubble, several reports suggested Harrell wasn’t so fond of the two stars of the team, Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. People believe this may have played a key role in his decision to leave the Clips. What was unexpected was Harrell signing with the Lakers.

Well, he’s ready to defend the Purple and Gold and help LeBron James, Anthony Davis and co. win their back-to-back NBA title.
