Steve Nash Talks About Brooklyn Nets’ Weakness This Season: “Right Now, Rebounding Has Definitely Been Our Weakness.”

The Brooklyn Nets had a terrific start to the season, dominating in their first two games against important rivals. Things have changed now and the New Yorkers have entered a slump, having a 3-3 record now, losing against weaker teams like the Charlotte Hornets and Memphis Grizzlies. They have had a hard time in recent days and it’s time to fix that.

Head coach Steve Nash has addressed the big elephant in the room on Friday night, after his team lost to the Atlanta Hawks, 114-96, at Barclays Center. Nash, a 2x NBA MVP, has identified the biggest weakness of this team this campaign, explaining what they need to do to improve their level. For the former point guard, the Nets need to improve their rebounding game.

“Gang rebounding has to become habitual for us. It’s just something our guys will have to get used to taking that responsibility. Right now, (rebounding) has definitely been our weakness,” the Canadian head coach said on Friday.

Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving are expected to lead this team to compete for important things but having two great scorers won’t magically make them win the championship. There are more aspects of the game the Nets need to work on and Nash is well aware of that.

The supporting cast needs to step up and bring a little more help to the stars if they want to make this team a successful one. Nash already identified the issue, now the focus is on how they can do to improve on that department.
