Shaquille O’Neal is taking a big turn in the way he talks about young players, the 4x NBA champion announced in recent hours. Shaq was criticized for his approach to modern-day NBA stars and the way he used to talk about them.
The big man criticized Rudy Gobert, Donovan Mitchell, Dwight Howard, JaVale McGee, and more in recent years but after the Los Angeles Lakers legend took things to the next level this season, everybody wanted him to pump the brakes.
Even his mother needed to step up and ask him to be fairer with the young NBA stars and he apparently agreed to that. During a recent edition of TNT’s Inside the NBA, O’Neal revealed that he will try to be less rude with players.
“My mother pulled me aside last night and said ‘baby take it easy on the young guys,’ so you’re going to see a new approach from me talking about these bums.”
Well, that’s a start. “Bums” isn’t as rude as other words he could have used and that’s good for Shaq. He has been under fire this season for his hot takes on current stars and perhaps we’ll see a different O’Neal from now on.
