Skip Bayless Says LeBron James Doesn’t Deserve The MVP Award This Season

It’s been a long time since LeBron James last won an MVP award, and even though he hasn’t missed a beat or stopped being one of the best players in the world, it seems like he was no longer even a frontrunner.

This time, finally, things have changed again and momentum has shifted back in James’ favor. In all honestly, watching a 36-year-old guy in his 18th season leading the Los Angeles Lakers to the 2nd seed in the Western Conference without Anthony Davis, is quite impressive, to say the least.

However, that’s not what Fox Sports’ Skip Bayless seems to think, as he believes that LeBron James hasn’t risen to the occasion without Davis, and went as far as to say that he’s only showboating vs. bad teams:

“I said it last year LeBron should have won the MVP over Giannis. But I do not think he deserves this year’s MVP so far. He did not rise and shine without AD,” Bayless said on Undisputed.

Well, it’s not a secret to anybody that Skip Bayless has made a living out of calling LeBron James out and firing bold takes left and right, so this shouldn’t come as a surprise and we should take his words with a grain of salt.

If anything, I’d say that a 36-year-old player that averages 25.8 points, 8.1 rebounds, 8.0 assists, 1.1 steals, and 2.4 three-pointers per game on 51% shooting and a 24.7 PER playing nearly 35 minutes a night while also leading his team to a top-2 seed in the West is a clear MVP candidate.
