Anthony Edwards is making a big impression in his first season in the NBA. The former Georgia Bulldog is enjoying a very good season with the Minnesota Timberwolves, becoming the main attraction of the team during a very difficult season for them.

His teammates are very high on him and the best player on the team, Karl-Anthony Towns, made the case for Edwards as the rightful winner of the 2021 Rookie of the Year award. After the T-Wolves beat the Sacramento Kings on Monday, KAT was asked about his rookie teammate and the 25-year-old made it clear there’s nobody better than Ant-Man in the league at this moment.

“He’s the Rookie of the Year. I don’t know what else to say,” Towns told reporters. “He’s proven he’s the most talented player in the draft class. … He’s the best of the best.”

Charlotte Hornets rookie sensation LaMelo Ball was seen as the frontrunner of this race but since he fractured his wrist, more candidates have signed their names on the list for the ROY. Besides Edwards, Tyrese Haliburton of the Kings and more players have entered this race, which seems up for grabs. Melo could still return this season but until then, the media will have to turn their heads to different candidates.

Edwards finished Monday’s game with 19 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists. He has earned a lot of praise for his incredible dunks and if he keeps improving his level, this kid will be ready to take the big stages in Minnesota. KAT is already putting him as the clear favorite to win the coveted award and if Melo doesn’t return this season, there’s a big chance that Edwards will snatch the prize from the Hornets guard.
