Last season, Nikola Jokic had an incredible year and was rewarded for it qnd won the regular-season MVP award for his efforts. Although the Nuggets couldn’t go far in the playoffs, it was a great achievement on Jokic’s part.
Speaking of the 2021-22 NBA season, the Nuggets haven’t had the best of starts. They are currently 10-10 and hold the ninth seed in the loaded Western Conference. While the season as a whole hasn’t been that great, it was a great fixture for them against the Miami Heat.
The last time around when the two teams faced off, Jokic and Markieff Morris got into an altercation. That led to the reigning MVP being ejected. Since then, the anticipation for the match has been at an elite level. Moreover, many believed that a brawl might break out between Jokic’s brothers and the Morris brothers.
Speaking of Jokic’s brothers, they have been there for him since his early days in the league. Sure, right now, the 26-year-old is one of the best players in the league. But that wasn’t the case a few years ago and his brothers were always there for him.
After the sensational victory against the Heat, Jokic talked about the importance of having his brothers support him from the crowd when playing in Miami.
“I mean to be honest, they’re coming to Miami every year when it’s possible. Of course last couple years there’s been COVID and no fans but I think they are in Miami every year so and then it’s really cool to have someone on your side.”

It is always great to have a family by your side and even more so when there is a chance that a fight might happen. Nuggets coach Mike Malone further commented about Jokic’s brothers being there and it is a sort of yearly ritual.

“They’re coming down here because this is Miami and I know for a fact every year they’ve been able to come, non-COVID, they’ve been here. And that’s not to cause trouble. That’s just to support their brother, which they always do.”
Thanks to Jokic, the Nuggets have now snapped their six-game losing streak. It is even amazing to see him play well while being booed by the entire stadium. Not that it mattered to him since Jokic gave a pretty great reply to the boos.
With the 2021-22 NBA season in full flow, the Nuggets will hope to win a few more games and get back in the race to clinch a playoff berth.
