The Golden State Warriors are coming off back-to-back disappointing seasons. They were one of the worst teams in the league two years ago and barely missed the playoffs last season.
And a big part of those struggles could and should be credited to the fact that Klay Thompson hasn’t been able to play. He suffered a major injury in the 2019 NBA Finals and had another one at the beginning of the offseason.
But, luckily for them, Thompson’s rehab is doing great and he’s going to be back to full strength at the beginning of next season. And, according to Kevon Looney, he’s more locked in than ever:
“He’s doing good. His rehab is going to be a long process, but he’s looking really good now. He’s getting stronger… He’s really attacking, he’s really locked in. It’s probably the most focused I’ve probably seen Klay in a long time. So I’m really excited to get him back,” Looney said.
“I know he wants to be back on the court. We don’t know when he’s going to be back, for opening day or whatever, but we know when he gets back, he’s gonna be ready. He’s gonna look really good,” added.

Thompson had rarely missed a game throughout his career since he was in high school. He’s desperate to get back out there and has constantly said how difficult it’s been for him to be on the sidelines.
The Warriors need him badly. He’s one of the best backcourt defenders in the league and one of the greatest shooters of all time. He’s the perfect complement next to Stephen Curry.
Golden State’s title window is closing, but as long as they have the Splash Brothers and Draymond Green on the court, they’ll be a legit championship contender year in and year out.
