Kobe Bean Bryant was one of the best basketball players who ever lived. And while the world was no stranger to his talent, it was always those who played alongside him that got to witness a different side of him.

In an appearance on VLADTV, former Laker Lamar Odom, a former teammate of Bryant’s, went into some specific detail about what separated Kobe from everyone else…

“His will. His ability to block everything out and focus on what’s in front of him. The incredible will to do that.”

“I’ll give you a prime example of that… He did that all-white photoshoot, which a lot of people were questioning, why the f— did you do this,” said Odom. “So we were in Utah, you know how those fans can be ruthless. Every fan in the stand had a picture of that all-white photo shoot… He still was able to be like, ‘all right, y’all gonna get on me? I’m gonna still go ahead and kick your a**.’ No other player can do that.”

Kobe was a guy who always stepped up to the challenge, never backed down from a fight, and always delivered when his team needed him most. And, just like Odom said, Kobe was always intent on proving he was the best player on the floor.

“You can ask the NBA greats about how many game-winners they won that they hit. You’ll probably get like five, or six… Kobe Bryant did nine in one season, nine!… He was trying to be the best in every practice too.”

Through 20 seasons in the NBA, Kobe was an 18x All-Star, 15x All-NBA player, 5x Champion, and 2x Finals MVP. Kobe is also 4th on the NBA’s All-Time scoring list.
