LaMarcus Aldridge has recently retired, shocking the NBA world. Aldridge is a 7-time All-Star, who has had a fairly good career, with the majority of it being spent with the Portland Trail Blazers and the San Antonio Spurs. LaMarcus Aldridge has made an impact on both of those teams, and while he doesn’t have a championship, he is still an elite player who has had a good run in the NBA.
Portland superstar Damian Lillard is one of the people who has shown some respect to LaMarcus Aldridge, as they were former teammates. Recently, he went on the show Jalen and Jacoby to state his support for Aldridge’s jersey to retire his #12 jersey.
Blazers star @Dame_Lillard joined @JalenRose and @djacoby as the LaMarcus Aldridge retirement news broke, and immediately asked Portland to RETIRE #12 👀 pic.twitter.com/jtkPSCzdR3

LaMarcus Aldridge certainly had a successful career in Portland and was at some point one of the best big men in the game. During his 9 seasons with the Portland Trail Blazers. LaMarcus Aldridge showed that he was a premier scorer. It is unfortunate that Aldridge didn’t get to retire with the Portland Trail Blazers, as that was the team where he became a star.
Hopefully, the Portland Trail Blazers reward Aldridge’s years playing for the team with a jersey retirement. Aldridge was definitely one of the prominent stars associated with the city, just like Damian Lillard is now. LaMarcus Aldridge deserves that recognition, and one would assume the Trail Blazers will do something sooner rather than later.
