Charles Barkley: “I’ve Been Poor, I’ve Been Rich, I’ve Been Fat, I’ve Been In The Hall Of Fame, And One Thing I Can Tell You Is That The Clippers Have Alway Sucked.”

Charles Barkley took a big shot at the Los Angeles Clippers and their struggling tenure in the league. Chuck is not a person that will try to be politically correct, especially when talking about basketball. The NBA legend is never afraid of speaking his mind and whenever he does, a lot of people get educated or entertained.

After returning to TNT’s Inside the NBA, the 1993 NBA MVP picked things right where he left them, calling out people, making fun of teams and players, and more. This time, the Clippers were the victims. Barkley called them ‘pretenders’ and then went on to recall all the things he’s been in his life while the Clippers ‘have sucked’ during their entire existence.

“I’ve been poor, I’ve been rich, I’ve been fat, I’ve been in the Hall of Fame, and one thing I can always tell you: the Clippers have always sucked.”

Entering the 2010s decade, the Clippers had a big plan to start winning more games and compete in the West. Creating a big 3 with Chris Paul, Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan, they were always in the picture to compete but never went further than the Conference semifinals.

Now they have another chance to win with Kawhi Leonard and Paul George but they keep struggling to show something that really says they are ready to reach the WCF and compete for the NBA championship. They have made some good additions this season that can benefit them in the postseason but if they play the same way they did last year, where they blew a 3-1 lead against the Denver Nuggets, they will confirm what Barkley said.

The pressure is big for the Clippers this season and even though other teams are trying to win the championship, the Angelenos know they need to show something different this campaign.

Fortunately for them, Chuck had jokes for everybody and he roasted whoever he could on Thursday, even his own co-hosts. After returning from his NCAA duty, the Phoenix Suns and Philadelphia 76ers legend said he returned to pick up the ratings his teammates had dropped during his absence.

Kevin Frazier: “Welcome back Charles Barkley and Kenny Smith from their NCAA duty. Good to have you all back. Charles, you glad to be back?”

Kenny to Charles: “What are you doing?”

Charles, while reaching for the floor: “Picking up our ratings. Y’all ruined the show while we were gone!”

This is one of the reasons why Barkley gets so much love from fans. He’s very entertaining, he knows what he’s talking about and is always willing to give fans the best of him. This time, he roasted the Clippers and his own teammates but fans don’t seem to have a problem with that.
