Skip Bayless was in awe with James Harden after the Houston Rockets star put up a show against the Portland Trail Blazers on Saturday night. The Beard has been the subject of plenty of rumors and criticism given his desire to leave the Houston Rockets this season but that hasn’t prevented him from being playing at a great level right now.

During Saturday night showdown, Harden went off, scoring 44 points, giving 17 assists and getting 4 rebounds. He engaged in a personal duel with CJ McCollum in the last minutes of the game and even took the game to OT, where the Blazers ultimately won. However, Harden’s performance earned him a lot of compliments, as including Skip Bayless couldn’t hide his excitement to see an overweight Harden putting those big numbers.

After the game, the controversial analyst took to Twitter to express his admiration for Harden and the things he did despite not being in the best physical condition.

“I just watched James Harden score 44 with 17 assts while playing 43 minutes AND HE’S A GOOD 10-15 POUNDS OVERWEIGHT. Most double-double pts EVER. 2 late clutch threes. Ended w bad-pass turnover. But what a game for a “fat” guy.”

After the game, Harden gave some hope to the Rockets and their fans, explaining what they need to do to start winning games.

“We’ve got a chance. We’ve got to just get things clicking faster than later. Obviously, we all know the West is a very strong conference. From top to bottom, everybody feels like they have a chance. There are no nights off.”

This is something good for the Rockets and their superstar. It’s not 100% certain that Harden will stay with the Rockets, but he’s giving his everything while he’s still in H-Town. It looks like he will wait to see how his situation ends without making more noise.
