The Miami Heat have signed their name on the list of James Harden sweepstakes this offseason but the team is yet to make a move for the talented shooting guard. Despite being involved in so many controversies recently, Harden is still seen as a great asset around the league and Miami, as well as other teams, can take advantage of his talents.

He requested a trade from the Rockets a couple of weeks ago and is yet to get his wish granted, but he’s not missing options. The Heat have a big opportunity to land James this offseason, but there is a tricky situation for them. Ethan Skolnick of 5 Reason Sports reports that Duncan Robinson is a “major sticking point” in their pursuit of the 2018 NBA MVP.

Robinson is one of the most talented sharpshooters in the league and he’s just starting his career. The Heat should be careful with their next move if they want to remain competitive. Sure, Harden would elevate their game but it could be a bomb if he doesn’t adapt to the culture of the team.

Harden can be a good addition to them but can also create a lot of problems for the Heat. They already have a leader in Jimmy Butler and if he doesn’t get used to Erik Spoelstra’s system, that would be a very bad move by the team. Robinson knows the team, he was a very important piece for them last season and they’re hoping to keep him on board for the long haul.

Only time will tell how this whole thing develops but as things stand right now, Robinson is the key for the Heat to land Harden.
