Jerry West Allegedly Took A Big Shot At The Lakers During Kawhi Leonard Recruitment: “I Just Find It Hard To Believe That He Would Want To Go To That S–t Show Where He Wouldn’t Be The Face Of The Franchise That’s For Sure.”

Los Angeles Lakers legend appears to have taken a big shot at his former team last year, while he was trying to land Kawhi Leonard, one of the biggest free agents in 2019, to the Clippers. West, who was great as a player and executive with the purple and gold, is now working with the Clippers and he’s doing a terrific job.

He’s taking things a little too far, though, as he didn’t hesitate to blast his former team while trying to get Kawhi to sign with the Clips. Johnny Wilkes, the man that is suing West for his help in the Kawhi’s recruiting, gave TMZ Sports a voicemail from July 1, 2019, that he claims was from West. In the voicemail, you can hear The Logo talking trash about his former team, wondering what Kawhi would show that ‘s**t show’.

“Hey there, this is Jerry calling. I really want to thank you a lot for trying to help. I heard this morning that everyone over in the Lakers camp thinks they’re gonna get him.

“I just find it hard to believe that he would want to go to that s–t show where he would not even be … wouldn’t even get his name in the paper and he wouldn’t be the face of the franchise that’s for sure. He might be the best player on the team, but hope things are well and again, I really really appreciate everything you’ve done.”

This comes after Wilkes issued a lawsuit against West for $2.5 million for his “services” helping the Clippers sign Kawhi Leonard. Wilkes claimed that he was the one that dropped the info about Kawhi going to the Clippers if they could get Paul George to play with him in LA.

Now things have gotten very dark for Kawhi, the Clippers and Jerry West. Wilkes said he’s close with Kawhi himself and is (or was) Dennis Robertson’s best friend.
