The Rockets don’t seem to have any intention of tanking, so a trade package around Paul George seems very reasonable. It is easy to envision the Rockets getting a lineup full of players with something to prove: some of those underdog-type teams have won championships out of nowhere.

James Harden and Kawhi Leonard would have amazing isolation ability between the two of them, something that matters come clutch time. This trade will give Leonard better chances to win in the Western Conference while letting Harden be able to take a break from carrying a team scoring-wise. This trade would let the Clippers rival the Lakers: that’s a series everyone wants to see this year.
The Clippers need to do something to their roster: their second-round exit is a catalyst for their front office to switch things around. Trading for James Harden would let all parties involved get a fresh start, and perhaps a more fitting franchise for their goals.
