LaMelo Ball Goes To The Charlotte Hornets With The 3rd Overall Pick

There’s no denying that LaMelo Ball is one of the most intriguing talents in this year’s NBA Draft. He’s got the upside and the potential to become one of the most explosive and entertaining scorers in the league but there are also some red flags about him that could scare away several teams.

That didn’t seem to be the case with the Charlotte Hornets, as Michael Jordan and company didn’t hesitate to take a risk on the younger of the Ball household with the third overall pick of the 2020 NBA Draft.

There were some people who thought that Ball could slip outside of the top-5 but he’s just too talented and intriguing not to gamble on him, especially considering how short in talent this year’s Draft class is.

Ball is one of the most experienced prospects in the draft thanks to his days at Lithuania and Australia and he’s already proven that he’s not afraid of the spotlight or taking a big shot. Also, he’s learned a thing or two from the NBA lifestyle from his brother Lonzo, currently playing for the New Orleans Pelicans.

LaMelo is an electrifying playmaker who’ll bring fans to the seats in the blink of an eye. He’s got a Jason Williams-ish game that will make the highlight reels more often than not, and is an unconscious scorer, for better or worst.

On the downside, Ball’s shot selection is iffy, to say the least, he shows little-to-none commitment in the defensive end of the floor and he must bulk up if he doesn’t want to be bullied around in the NBA. Also, LaVar Ball’s figure will also raise some questions.

Hopefully, LaMelo Ball will prove all of his doubters wrong and back his talk on the hardwood. He’s got all the tools, that’s for sure.
