J.R. Smith Accurately Predicted A Heat Vs. Lakers Finals All The Way Back In February

If you would have said a few months ago that the L.A. Lakers would meet the Miami Heat in the NBA Finals, there aren’t a whole lot of people who would have believed you.

Nevertheless, with the NBA Finals set, it is the Lakers and Heat who stand ready to face off for the title.

It is obviously a pretty shocking turn of events for most people, especially regarding the Heat, who had to defeat the Pacers, Bucks, and Celtics to get to this point.

But there is someone who accurately predicted these Finals, and his name is J.R. Smith. Back in February, he was asked by a fan who he thought would be playing in the Finals, to which he answered L.A. and Miami.

Whatever he saw in them back then, it has proven true now.

Despite a lot of questions surrounding the Lakers and their performance since returning to the bubble, LeBron James and A.D. were able to step it up when they had to and lead this team to their first Finals appearance since 2010.

As for Miami, it seems that depth, coaching, and the leadership of Jimmy Butler has propelled them past all their challengers in the East.

It ha been an awesome and amazing run for both teams, and obviously, only one will be holding the trophy when it’s all said and done. Either way, win or lose, there many who thought neither of them would have made it this far at all.
