Giannis Antetokounmpo On Milwaukee Bucks: “Some Have Put The Team Over The Players’ Health, I Love The Organization For That, They Protected Me… My Organization Put My Health Over Game 5 And That’s Big For Me.”

The Miami Heat finished the job and eliminated the Milwaukee Bucks from the playoffs after a Giannis Antetokounmpo-led Bucks couldn’t stop Erik Spoelstra and his talented team. After the Bucks won the 4th game of the series, some people had hopes that they could win this one as well, but none of that happened. The Heat got the 103-94 win, eliminated the #1 seed in the Eastern Conference and now are waiting for their rival.

Some may say things would’ve been different if Giannis was in the game, even if he wasn’t in the best condition. According to the Greek player, he would’ve played regardless of his injury, but the team put his health about anything else. These types of decisions will always be controversial and they can change the moment of a team, like Kawhi Leonard’s situation with the San Antonio Spurs.

Even though he was willing to play last night, Giannis understood the team’s decision and thanked them for the decision.

“If it’s up to me, I’d play with one leg, I really don’t care… Some have put the team over the player’s health, I love my organization for that, I appreciate that they protected me… I wanted to play… My organization put my health over game 5 and that’s big for me,” Giannis told reporters after the game.

Now it’s time to focus on their next challenge. Giannis was great this season, winning the DPOY award and probably winning the MVP of the season, as well, but none of that matters for him. He wanted the big trophy but this year won’t be the one when he wins it. He has to improve and expand his game; he has everything to be the best player in the league but he’ll probably have the same fate if he doesn’t work on his game.
