Recent history has labeled the Golden State Warriors as the franchise that has had the most talent. With guys like Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, and Klay Thompson, the Warriors and their talented squad have managed to win three NBA titles in 4 years. But this was done with the exception of a salary cap as in the case of all other teams.

  • The Perfect Warriors Team – Total Salary: $99,504,121

Only one can imagine if the Warriors had a hefty salary cap to sign who they want. If they had a $100 million salary cap, how would their team look like today?

Starting with the signing of current superstar Stephen Curry, it is time to create the perfect Warriors team. Here are the rules to the $100 Million Golden State Warriors squad.

Rules:

– Best Player From Team Automatically Chosen (Stephen Curry)

– Maximum 2 Players From Any Team

– Maximum 3 Rookie Players

– Maximum $100 Million Salary Cap

Guards

Stephen Curry – $40,231,758

Stephen Curry

Stephen Curry’s 40 million dollar salary cuts a lot into the $100 million salary cap, but surely that won’t impact how dominant he will be on the court. Alongside Trae Young, Curry will absolutely blow teams out of the water with his shooting. He’s the greatest shooter of all time, a two-time MVP, and one of the most impactful players in NBA history. Curry’s career average of 23.5 PPG will be the main talking point as he will be the best player on the squad.

Trae Young – $6,273,000

Trae Young

Western Conference All-Star starter Trae Young is the man to start at point guard for this $100 Million Golden State Warriors squad. Young is one of the best scores in the league and also one of the best playmakers in his position. His numbers are terrific this season, and he will have an unbelievably dominant partnership with Stephen Curry.

Young is averaging 29.6 PPG and 9.3 APG albeit with a very poor Hawks team. He won’t have the problem of playing for a bad team this time, because the squad depth he will have will be amazing.

Kendrick Nunn – $1,416,852

Kendrick Nunn

Kendrick Nunn has been a revelation in Miami. The Heat started the season as a pretty decent team on paper after the signing of Jimmy Butler, but Kendrick Nunn has had a profound impact on the squad. He’s averaging 15.6 PPG and 3.4 APG this season and looks to be primed to be on an All-Rookie team.

OG Anunoby – $2,281,800

OG Anunoby

Anunoby got off to a tremendous start in his career, only to plateau last year. He’s once again playing at a high level including averages of 10.7 PPG and 5.4 RPG this season. Anunoby has the potential to be a very impactful two-way player, and he will have the job of backing up Stephen Curry at shooting guard. It will be hard to find a better player on a $2 million salary.

JR Smith – $1,456,667

JR Smith

JR Smith is mainly known for his green light in terms of perimeter shooting and also boneheaded plays. If somehow he can keep the latter in check, Smith will be a very valuable member of the squad. He will back up Anunoby and be the instant offense when Curry or Trae are having a breather. Smith is not in his prime anymore, but he will always have the skills to score the ball and this will complement Anunoby’s defense.

Forwards

Giannis Antetokounmpo – $25,842,697

Giannis Antetokounmpo

Reigning MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo will be a part of this unbelievable squad. A trio of Giannis, Curry, and Trae would make this the best team in the league by far. Curry and Trae do their work from the outside, and Giannis does his on the inside.

Curry might be the leader and go-to guy on the team, but Giannis might be the most impactful player because of his all-around game. He is also the frontrunner for the MVP Award once again this season, so two players with a total of 4 MVP Awards might be in the starting lineup.

Bam Adebayo – $3,454,080

Bam Adebayo

All-Star Bam Adebayo has primed himself for a max contract because he is one of the most skilled centers in the league right now. In an era where big men need to pass or shoot, Adebayo is averaging 5.1 APG as a point-center at times. His rebounding has been sensational, averaging 10.5 RPG, and he is a big part of Miami’s offense. Adebayo will be a crucial part of this team’s defense and he will fortify the frontcourt with Giannis.

Lauri Markkanen – $5,300,400

Lauri Markkanen

Markkanen is a perfect backup player, mainly since he is a perfect big man who can shoot and also block shots. That’s the identity he has in the league, and he does it well. The Helsinki man is averaging 14.7 PPG, 6.3 RPG, and 0.6 BPG as a member of the lowly Bulls. He will have his share of open shots and help defensive plays when he plays with Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo, so his worth on this team doubles.

Kyle Kuzma – $1,974,600

Kyle Kuzma

For a salary of $1 million, it’ll be hard to find a better player than Kyle Kuzma. While he has had a down year this season in comparison to last year, we all know the talent that Kuzma has. He can score from the inside and outside, and has total confidence in his game. He is an excellent backup option to Giannis, as he can stretch the floor and play both forward spots with ease.

Michael Porter Jr. – $3,389,400

Michael Porter Jr.

We hope Michael Porter Jr can stay healthy for the rest of his career because he has the makings of a perfect small forward in today’s NBA. He is well-sized and can be an excellent all-around player. He is still young however, so he will be the third option at the small forward position. It’s also quite surprising how he makes more money than Kuzma, although still under $4 million.

Centers

Montrezl Harrell – $6,000,000

Montrezl Harrell

Grabbing Montrezl Harrell on a $6 million is a gift because he is worth at least 4 times that amount. He is having a career year, putting up 18.6 PPG and 7.1 RPG as a member of the Clippers bench. He is clearly capable of starting every night, and he will have this role with the Warriors. Harrell and Adebayo will be a force inside, not allowing easy buckets around the rim and using their skill and force to score on the other end. Harrell would fit this team tremendously.

Nerlens Noel – $1,882,867

Nerlens Noel

Noel was expected to take a very high trajectory in his play, but it seems he has hit his ceiling as a player. He isn’t a bad player by any means, averaging 7.7 PPG and 4.9 RPG, but he is perfect for a backup center role. He is long, athletic, and is mainly on the floor to block shots and rebound.

The Perfect Warriors Team – Total Salary: $99,504,121

This team will blow everyone out of the building. Curry alone is unstoppable, and he needs consistent attention from two or three defenders at a time. Adding Trae Young to the squad means two guys have to be picked up from 40 feet inwards. If Curry is open, you know the result. Same with Ice Trae. They are too lethal from deep, and also off dribble-drives. I don’t see how any defense can prepare for them.

Adding Giannis Antetokounmpo just makes this ridiculous. Giannis would be the perfect complement to Curry because he can run the floor and handle the ball or receive it for dunks and layups. Giannis to Curry, and vice-versa, might be the most dominant combination since Kobe and Shaq. This team also has tremendous depth with the likes of Montrezl Harrell and Bam Adebayo, and also good role players like Kyle Kuzma and Lauri Markkanen.

Overall, this team have a size and plenty of offense which makes them a Perfect $100 Million Squad.

Starting Lineup: Trae Young, Stephen Curry, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Bam Adebayo, Montrezl Harrell
