Paul Pierce And His Most Controversial Statements Since Becoming An Analyst

Paul Pierce was always a player that gave people a lot to talk during his active days. The Boston Celtics icon enjoyed a very good career with the C’s before becoming an analyst. Just like he did during his playing days, Pierce is still giving fans plenty of things to talk about and not precisely for the best reasons.

The Truth has been known in recent times for his bold and often wrong statements. He’s part of ESPN, working as an analyst and he often manages to surprise people with his words. They can be about his career as a player, about certain teams or other players. Pierce has become a living meme for his claims, which turn out to be false rather than true most of the cases.

One of the most famous samples of that happened when he said he had a better career than 3x NBA champion Dwyane Wade. You can say his rivalry with the Miami Heat in the late 2000s and early 2010s had something to do with that statement, but still, that didn’t sit well with fans or even his colleagues. Moreover, he said he was a better shooter than Klay Thompson. Yes, you read that right, he said he was a better shooter than one of the greatest 3-point shooters this game has seen.

Last year Pierce claimed the Eastern Conference semis between the Boston Celtics and the Milwaukee Bucks was ‘over’ after Boston won the first game of the series. Milwaukee would win the next four games after that statement, eliminating the C’s and finishing Kyrie Irving’s tenure at the TD Garden.

He’s also expressed his opinion on LeBron James, giving some of the hottest takes in NBA history. That’s not even an exaggeration. Recently, he said Bron wasn’t a top 5 player of all-time since he didn’t build or continue the tradition of an organization like other big players like Michael Jordan, Bill Russell, Larry Bird, or Tim Duncan.

He got blasted for his words. Even though if you don’t like LeBron, you have to admit the man belongs to the list of the best players in NBA history. Bron has done more than enough to be considered at least a top-3 player of all time.

Well, not for Pierce, who is reluctant to accept the fact that LeBron James will go down as one of the greatest of all time. He’s still playing and hunting his 4th NBA title. His case isn’t done yet and Bron can reassure he’s one of the best ballers ever if the league resumes action this year.
