Golden State Warriors Assigned And Recalled Steph Curry From Their G League After An Hour And 35 Minutes

2x NBA MVP, 6x All-Star, and 3x league Champion Steph Curry can add another name to his illustrious resume: Santa Cruz legend.

For a sting that lasted for about an hour-and-a-half, it was probably the most widely followed G-League experience to date. It all started yesterday afternoon when the Warriors announced they would be sending Steph to practice with Santa Cruz.

Curry, in all his humility, embraced the experience and even gave some pointers to his (temporary) teammates. Here are some clips from the workout:

While just another step in the rehab process, there aren’t many stars of his tier who would even consider working out with G-Leaguers. For Curry, though, it was a chance to get back into game shape and mentor some other guys in the process.

It wasn’t long before the Warriors called him back up, though. It was only about an hour and a half before the Warriors officially welcomed him back.

All-in-all, it was a win-win situation for everyone. Curry took another step towards his much-anticipated return, the Santa Cruz team got the chance to learn from a legend, and the fans got to witness Curry doing his thing on the basketball court again.

Curry is reportedly on track for a return sometime this month, though it won’t mean very much this season. In his absence, Golden State hasn’t been able to compete, going 13-48 overall (the worst record in the league).

Next campaign, Curry is looking to reunite with backcourt partner Klay Thompson to put the team back on the map, and who’s to say they won’t be successful in doing so? Last time they were together, they represented the West in the NBA Finals.
