Europe’s basketball stage was the highlight this summer as EuroBasket 2025 had a deep collection of NBA superstars. There were 24 teams, dozens of NBA talents, and a tournament that left nothing to chance, combined to produce some of the most interesting basketball storylines.
Germany captured its first European crown since 1993, but not without being tested by excellent teams such as Turkey, Greece, Finland, and others. Of course, NBA players were the standout performers from nearly every team.
Including the superstar scoring of Luka Doncic to the dominant all-around showings by Alperen Sengun, Franz Wagner, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and champion Dennis Schroder, each delivered when it mattered. As we wrap up, let’s name the 10 standout NBA players at the EuroBasket.
1. Dennis Schroder

EuroBasket 2025 Statistics: 20.3 PPG, 3.4 RPG, 7.2 APG, 0.8 SPG, 0.1 BPG
Dennis Schroder was the star of the EuroBasket 2025 among all the NBA elite. As Germany captured their first European Championship since 1993, Schroder was the engine driving them forward: averaging 20.3 points, 7.2 assists, and 3.4 rebounds per game. He was also the most clutch player in the tournament, as he always came up with big plays consistently.
In the gold medal game against Turkey, his 16 points (14 of them in the second half) and 12 assists set a championship record for assists in a final, sealing both the game and his MVP honors. As the best player on the best team at the EuroBasket, the vastly underrated NBA point guard Dennis Schroder was the face of the tournament.
2. Alperen Sengun

EuroBasket 2025 Statistics: 21.6 PPG, 10.1 RPG, 6.6 APG, 1.0 SPG, 1.1 BPG
At only 23, Alperen Sengun showed in EuroBasket 2025 that he’s already among the elite big men in the world. He averaged 21.6 points, 10.1 rebounds, and 6.6 assists per game during the tournament, numbers that not only dominated traditionally for a center but also helped lead Turkey all the way to the final.
He became the youngest player in EuroBasket history to record a triple-double when he posted 19 points, 12 boards, and 10 assists in the quarterfinals vs. Poland. Even at his young age, Sengun’s presence in the paint, both on offense and defense, forced opponents to double-team him consistently. Sengun will be disappointed not to win the gold medal, but these losses should help mold him into a better player and leader.
3. Luka Doncic

EuroBasket 2025 Statistics: 34.7 PPG, 8.6 RPG, 7.1 APG, 2.7 SPG, 0.6 BPG
Luka Doncic was the most incredible statistical player at the EuroBasket, which is why he was easily awarded the All-Star Five selection. Averaging 34.7 points, 8.6 rebounds, 7.1 assists, and 2.7 steals per game, he was Slovenia’s offensive juggernaut from the jump. He unloaded a 42-point performance in the Round of 16 over Italy, an iconic achievement.
Yet even with all those gaudy numbers, Doncic’s Slovenia fell short of the medal rounds, knocking on the door but unable to break through. His efforts against other teams were extraordinary, but Slovenia’s supporting cast couldn’t always keep up. Not earning a medal hurt him in the rankings, but his performances were easily top-three among all NBA players.
4. Giannis Antetokounmpo

EuroBasket 2025 Statistics: 27.3 PPG, 10.6 RPG, 4.1 APG, 1.1 SPG, 0.9 BPG
Giannis came into the tournament with massive expectations and delivered when it mattered most. In the bronze medal game against Finland, he poured in 30 points, grabbed 17 rebounds, and dished out 6 assists, helping Greece secure the bronze medal.
Throughout the tournament, he was almost unstoppable on a physical level. What perhaps stood out most was the emotional outburst the humble superstar had. Giannis pushed Greece back onto the podium after years of falling short, carrying the weight of expectation for the country. When it came to both ends, Giannis proved why he is a two-time MVP in the NBA.
5. Franz Wagner

EuroBasket 2025 Statistics: 20.8 PPG, 5.9 RPG, 3.4 APG, 1.1 SPG, 0.4 BPG
Franz Wagner was a model of efficiency and versatility, delivering 20.8 points, 5.9 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and over a steal per game as Dennis Schroder’s sidekick and at times, Germany’s main option. His scoring, while not always the flashiest, was consistently high impact, especially in semifinal rounds.
More than just scoring, Franz’s defense and off-ball IQ allowed Germany to counter opposing stars throughout the tournament. As Germany pushed through to become champions, Wagner was a steady piece in a well-balanced core and helped Schroder guide the team all the way to the top.
6. Nikola Jokic

EuroBasket 2025 Statistics: 22.3 PPG, 9.0 RPG, 4.2 APG, 1.8 SPG, 0.7 BPG
Nikola Jokic was a force for Serbia, even if individual brilliance didn’t always translate to Serbia’s success this year. Jokic often had to compensate when others around him went cold or the defensive scheme focused heavily on slowing him, and his numbers across the board show that.
Overall, his ability to control tempo, to stretch defenses with court vision, to still score in traffic, all while being one of the most efficient bigs in the tournament, made him an essential pillar and one of EuroBasket 2025’s best big men. Regardless of the lack of team success, we expect Jokic to return to his spot as the NBA’s best player once the 2025-26 campaign starts.
7. Lauri Markkanen

EuroBasket 2025 Statistics: 23.1 PPG, 8.1 RPG, 2.2 APG, 2.1 SPG, 0.6 BPG
Lauri Markkanen brought scoring punch and versatility fitting for modern basketball. His stat line (23.1 PPG, 8.1 RPG, 2.2 APG, 2.1 SPG) suggests a forward who can both shoot and defend, and through the tournament, he did just that.
Markkanen led Finland to its best-ever finish (fourth place) in EuroBasket. His performance against Greece and the run to the semis and beyond will likely be a starting point for even greater expectations in future international play.
8. Deni Avdija

EuroBasket 2025 Statistics: 24.0 PPG, 6.8 RPG, 2.7 APG, 2.0 SPG, 0.8 BPG
Deni Avdija, whose numbers (24.0 PPG, 6.8 RPG, 2.7 APG, 2.0 SPG) place him among the most versatile players in the tournament, was Israel’s driving force. He scored in bunches, attacked mismatches, and when needed, defended at high intensity.
He was a frequent option in isolation and drive-and-kick sets, and his scoring load lifted Israel in tough group games. Avdija has grown as a player across the board, and based on what he did at the EuroBasket, there could be more to come from the 24-year-old.
9. Nikola Vucevic

EuroBasket 2025 Statistics: 20.8 PPG, 11.6 RPG, 4.4 APG, 0.8 SPG, 0.8 BPG
Nikola Vucevic was a rebounding machine all tournament, pulling down 11.6 boards per game. He ranked first among all players in rebounds and was also a very capable passer out of the post. No doubt, the 34-year-old has still got the double-double skills that made him an NBA All-Star.
On defense and in defensive rebounding, Vucevic was critical for his team’s possessions. He often set the tone with strong boards or put-backs that swung momentum in close games, so he easily earns his top-10 spot.
10. Kristaps Porzingis

EuroBasket 2025 Statistics: 20.2 PPG, 8.7 RPG, 1.8 APG, 0.5 SPG, 1.7 BPG
Kristaps Porzingis showed up in EuroBasket 2025 with excellent two-way play highlighted by dominant rim-protection. With a stat line of 20.2 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks per game, he was one of Europe’s top stretch bigs.
He forced teams to adjust when he had room, and disciplined closeouts and rotations when he was the anchor. Even if Latvia fell to Lithuania in the Round of 16, Porzingis was excellent on both ends of the court, and he rounds out this elite list of players.
