Michelle Beadle Explains Her Slip Of The Tongue After Saying “N***a” Live On Air

Michelle Beadle opens up on what led to her accidentally saying "n***a" live on air.

FanDuel’s Michelle Beadle has gone viral, but not in a way she’d have liked. During Thursday’s episode of Run It Back, Beadle accidentally said “n***a” on air while talking about the Denver Nuggets, and she has now explained what caused that slip of the tongue to Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson.

“I sped through a Nuggets question,” Beadle said. “And my vowels got all f*****. Then those two turds (Chandler Parsons and Lue Williams) lost it. And we laughed through the entire Denver segment. And will probably do so now for the rest of the season. I imagine an edited version is going around. Not showing the real-time viewing. And making it seem like an actual n-word and no response. Which I can’t control!”

I don’t think Beadle has to worry about any edited videos, but she sure is getting a lot of backlash for this. The 49-year-old took to Instagram to admit that her whole career did flash before her eyes when she said it and shared some advice to aspiring broadcasters.

“The moment you say ‘Nuggets’ incorrectly on television and your entire career flashes… while your cohosts die. Broadcasting students: slow down. And enunciate.”

The New York Post reached out to Fanduel for a comment on the situation and they termed it a “gaffe.” While some have called for Beadle to lose her job over this, it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen.

This was probably the first big gaffe of Beadle’s long broadcasting career, which began back in the 2000s. She started her sports career by working as an intern for the San Antonio Spurs and later switched to reporting.

Beadle rose to fame during her time at ESPN after joining the network in 2009. She left for NBC in 2012 but then returned in 2014. Her second stint with the media giant ended in 2019 and she joined FanDuel Network in 2022 as the host for Run It Back. This incident could have ended her time there but she looks set to continue in that role for the foreseeable future.

This is the second time in less than a month that Beadle has come under fire on social media. Beadle claimed that LeBron James and Bronny James’ moment together was manufactured and ridiculous after they became the first father-son duo to play on the same team in the NBA.

That wasn’t a very popular take, to say the least, but Beadle has never been the type to mince words. While she certainly regrets what happened on television on Thursday, I’m sure she stands by what she said about LeBron and Bronny.

His passion for the sport was ignited after witnessing the high-octane offense of the Steve Nash-led Phoenix Suns. Among the Suns, Shawn Marion stood out to Gautam as an all-time underrated NBA player. Marion’s versatility as a defender and his rebounding prowess, despite being just 6’7”, impressed Gautam immensely. He admired Marion’s finishing ability at the rim and his shooting, despite an unconventional jump shot, believing that Marion’s skill set would have been even more appreciated in today’s NBA.This transformative experience not only deepened his love for basketball but also shaped his approach to sports writing, enabling him to connect with readers through vivid storytelling and insightful analysis.
