The Warriors lost 113-121 to the Magic after a surprisingly one-sided battle against a team that did not have their star player available in Paolo Banchero. The Warriors did not lead throughout the game after losing the lead midway through the first quarter.
During the fourth quarter, the frustration of being behind clearly caught up with Jimmy Butler, who seemingly shoved Jalen Suggs to the ground. Consequently, he got into a verbal argument with Wendell Carter Jr. for his actions. Draymond Green and the officials had to step in to separate the players before other teammates also rushed in.

Following the free throw due to Butler’s technical foul on Suggs, he exchanged words with the Magic guard that seemingly did not sit well with the big man. After the game, Jimmy Butler avoided the question about the incident with a smile on his face.
“Are y’all done?” scoffed Butler before walking away from the media scrum in the locker room.
Wendell Carter Jr., who defended his teammate in the argument, also spoke to the media about this incident and staying poised against the antics from Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green.
“We’re all competitors. Sometimes we get emotional, including me. That’s just part of the game. There’s nothing more to it than that.
Those guys are fantastic players; they put a lot on the floor every time they play. They’re some of the best to ever do it, so that’s really about it,” said Wendell Carter Jr. about Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green after the game.
Jimmy Butler ended the night with 33 points, seven rebounds, and four assists, while shooting 10-of-16 (62.5%) from the floor and 13-of-15 (86.7%) from the free-throw line. Butler was clearly frustrated throughout this game. It was visible from the first half itself during his viral exchange with Buddy Hield.
Meanwhile, Desmond Bane and Anthony Black led the Magic to their second win in three games since Paolo Banchero has been out. The two players combined for 44 points (Bane 23, Black 21) as the Magic had six different players with double-digit scoring.
Earlier last month, Steve Kerr said that it seemed that the Warriors are cursed against teams that don’t have their star player available. This game was just another example of that.
The Magic improved their record to 8-7 for the season with this win over the Warriors, who have now fallen to a 9-7 record. The Warriors will now head to Miami, where they will face Jimmy Butler’s former team, the Heat, to end this six-game stretch of road games. Meanwhile, the Magic face the Nets at home on Thursday.
