Anthony Edwards has petitioned influencer Ayesha Howard to court to conduct a paternity test that will confirm that he is the father of one of her sons. According to Page Six, Howard, who also shares a child with rapper Lil Baby, will be DNA tested by the court, along with Edwards and the child in question.

The court filing in Georgia reveals that should the test results prove that Edwards is the father of Howard’s son, there is to be an immediate establishment of paternity, which perhaps could include a co-parenting agreement and custody agreement between the two sides.

“If genetic testing shows that the petitioner is the father, the petitioner requests an order establishing the minor child’s paternity.”

The case will have a status conference, which is a court-ordered meeting between a judge and the two parties to discuss the status of the case, on November 13th. Howard’s camp did not provide a comment when reached out to by Page Six. The influencer has been radio silent on social media since May 21st.

Anthony Edwards has recently welcomed multiple children. One of these children’s births, which was with his girlfriend, Shannon, was a small feature of Netflix’s ‘Starting 5’, which showed Edwards rushing out of a Timberwolves game at halftime to witness the birth of his daughter.

On top of that, a woman by the name of Ally D claimed that Edwards had a girl with another woman a month before the birth of their alleged son. She even added that Edwards had another baby with a third woman during this time, although that is yet to be corroborated by other media sources.

Anthony Edwards Must Focus On New Season

While matters of paternity and family are incredibly important, Anthony Edwards’s personal business is also important. And he does not need to be forthcoming with the public or the media about what goes on in his private life. But there will be concerns that matters such as this could distract him from his NBA career.

Edwards and the Timberwolves are entering a new season as an unknown commodity. Last year, the Timberwolves reached the Western Conference Finals for the first time since 2004. And that was thanks in large part to the duo of Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns.

But now, the Timberwolves have massively shuffled their roster, trading Towns to the New York Knicks in exchange for Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo. This significantly affects the Timberwolves’ status as favorites, as they need to find a suitable playing style with a whole new second option in Julius Randle.

Edwards is coming off a great year, where he averaged 25.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 5.1 assists with the Timberwolves. Many analysts expect him to take a bigger leap next season, with Kendrick Perkins even claiming that Edwards could win his first MVP award next season.

Ant has already issued a warning to the rest of the NBA ahead of the new season, claiming that their success last year was just their appetizer, and the Timberwolves are looking for the whole meal. It will be interesting to see how the Timberwolves can adapt now that they have a new chef in their team in Julius Randle.
