The NBA offseason is a prime opportunity for players to cash in on their fame and fortune for a little bit of fun. This weekend, Paul George and Kawhi Leonard took that concept to heart after being spotted vibing and partying at a nightclub in Las Vegas.

Rockets coach Ime Udoka and Chet Hpmgren were also in attendance, but it was the presence of the All-Stars that drew everyone’s attention.

It’s no secret that Kawhi and PG have a complicated history together. Back in 2019, Leonard came to the Clippers from Toronto and forced them to make a trade for Paul George, who joined as his co-star that same summer. The two have seemingly always been friends and their partnership on the court was expected to result in an era of prosperity for the Clippers.

Instead, the two stars failed to get past the Conference Finals and their run has now ended with nothing to show for it. That’s what makes this video so much stranger.

The fact that these two hung together in Las Vegas just days after splitting up is pretty surprising, to say the least, and it means that George’s beef is purely with the Clippers and has nothing to do with Kawhi. But with such a big change, one would think that George would try to get acquainted with his new city (Philadelphia) instead of spending time in the West with his old partner in crime.

As for Kawhi, some fans have taken a critical approach to his involvement here. He made a commitment to represent Team USA this summer and after dropping from the team so abruptly, people thought he would be taking it easy and staying out of the limelight until the next NBA season begins.

Instead, Leonard is hanging out at nightclubs and feeding the narrative that he doesn’t really care about basketball that much. The guy looks completely unbothered by his situation with Team USA and he doesn’t look to be taking a cautious approach with his fragile body (which has been unavailable for most of his time with the Clippers).

To say that the opinion of George and Kawhi is not high right now might be an understatement given everything that happened this summer. By all accounts, their run together was a failure but neither Leonard nor George are giving it much thought.

At the very least, it’s good to know that there are no hard feelings between Kahwi Leonard and Paul George. Despite going from teammates to adversaries, it’s all love between the future Hall of Famers and it’s business as usual.

Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the Clippers, After letting George walk, it’s fair to say they took a major step back in the West and now the pressure falls on Kawhi to carry the load and elevate his game in the absence of Paul.

Only time will tell how this story plays out but it seems that neither George nor Kawhi are stressing about their new realities. In fact, until the season starts, they will likely continue to celebrate as if nothing has changed at all.
