Jimmy Butler sure is a man of his word. Just under a month ago, Butler had missed a potential game-winner against the New York Knicks, but after the game, he guaranteed he’d make his next one. So, when he was presented with a chance to make one against the Chicago Bulls on Saturday, he delivered.

“I thought that was going in, I thought the one I shot in the corner was going in,” Butler said. “I’m always going to go for the win and myself and everybody else is riding with me. We’re gonna live with the result but I guarantee I’m making the next one.”

The internet never forgets and had he missed, Butler would have surely been mocked on social media. The fact that he made it, now adds to his legend. These two points were part of a game-high 28 for Butler, who also had 4 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals. The Miami Heat won 118-116 as a result of his heroics to improve to 15-11.

That game against the Knicks was one that would have left a bad taste in the six-time All-Star’s mouth. The Heat were up 21 at one stage but blew that lead, and then Butler missed the game-winner.

Drilling the one against the Bulls after this would have felt great. It wasn’t the first time the 34-year-old had delivered on a promise and it certainly won’t be the last.

NBA Fans React To Jimmy Butler Delivering On His Promise

With Butler making good on his promise here, NBA fans were very impressed by him, as they reacted to this viral clip.

One says this is why he doesn’t bet against Butler in the playoffs, “Jimmy saying and doing stuff like this is the reason we can never bet against him in the playoffs.”

A fan thinks Playoff Jimmy made an appearance here, “Playoff Jimmy made a cameo appearance this regular season.”

One says he respects a man of his word, “I can respect a man of his word”

A fan jokingly stated Butler is indeed Michael Jordan’s son, “Really is MJ’s son”

One believes Butler has the Mamba Mentality, “Say what you want about Jimmy, but he really has that Mamba Mentality.”

Butler does seem to have that Mamba Mentality and the Heat will certainly ride with him. He has taken them to two NBA Finals and you wouldn’t bet against him doing it again.

Jimmy Butler Went Off On The Heat’s Doubters

After the Heat failed to land Damian Lillard or Jrue Holiday in the offseason, their chances of coming out of the East were somewhat dismissed yet again. It’s something they have kind of grown accustomed to at this point and Butler went off on the Heat’s doubters.

“Nobody’s gonna pick us, ever,” said Butler. “Nobody’s gonna pick us this year. No one’s ever gonna pick any team that I’m on, which is great, because I don’t give a f**k and I don’t like none of y’all anyways.”

With how last season panned out, anyone completely writing them off would be making a big mistake. The Heat and Butler take things up a notch when the playoffs come around and there isn’t a team in the NBA that would look forward to playing against them.
