The Chicago Bulls pulled off an incredible 21-point comeback win over the Miami Heat on Saturday night, winning 102-97. As the players celebrated on the court, though, Zach LaVine could be seen exiting it and he also ignored the Bulls’ PR representative, who was trying to get him to stop for an interview.
I don’t think there would be a clearer indicator that he wants out as soon as possible. The Bulls seemed down and out when they were down 22-1 here and normally, any player would be pumped to have completed a turnaround of such proportions, but not LaVine.
As for his play on the court, he had 13 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 steals, and a block. He was surprisingly passive, only attempting 10 shots, but to his credit, did contribute in other areas. The Bulls ended a three-game losing streak with this result and improved to 5-9. The Heat, meanwhile, saw their seven-game winning streak come to an end and dropped to 8-5.
Zach LaVine Explained His Actions After The Game
It was inevitable that LaVine would be asked about his actions after the game. The 28-year-old tried to play the whole thing down, stating that the incident with the PR representative was just a miscommunication.
“It was just a miscommunication for us and our PR team,” LaVine said. “We’re all fine.”
When asked why he seemed so upset after the win, the two-time All-Star said that was not the case.
“I’m not ticked at all,” LaVine stated. “I’m happy we got a win. We play these guys in a couple of days and I don’t want to sit around and celebrate. I’d rather celebrate in the locker room.”

While you can maybe understand there was some sort of miscommunication with the PR team, the reasoning for not wanting to celebrate was odd. Yes, the Bulls and the Heat play again on Monday, but I don’t think that’s a reason to not celebrate a win on the court.
There Is A Lot Of Interest Around The League In Zach LaVine
We know by now, that the 28-year-old is unlikely to be a Bull for too much longer, with both parties being open to a trade. The Lakers, Heat, and 76ers are interested in acquiring LaVine, with some movement expected sooner rather than later.
LaVine’s preferred trade destinations have also been revealed, as he is open to going to the aforementioned teams or to any other contender. He is also intrigued by the prospect of playing with Victor Wembanyama and would be an interesting fit next to the Frenchman.
It is clear by now, that the Bulls are going nowhere, and among all their assets, LaVine is the one for whom they can get the most in return in a trade. They’d be hoping for a bidding war of sorts to develop, as for teams like the Lakers, Heat, and the 76ers, he’d really be a great addition.
All three could use him as a secondary scorer, the role he is best suited for. So far this season, LaVine has averaged 21.9 points, 5.2 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.0 steals, and 0.3 blocks per game. I can see him thriving on those teams and the question now is who would be able to pull it off. I think the 76ers are in the best spot, thanks to the draft picks they got in the James Harden trade.
