Kyrie Irving is a deep thinker and can often have a very different view of the world from what the norm is, but he recently shared a message on Instagram that I believe everyone would agree with.

In today’s world, if there is one thing that is lacking, it’s empathy. There is no hesitation toward treating others harshly, which is a real shame. People worship gods and offer prayers to them with the hope that they’ll have a better life, but those same people make life miserable for those around them.

You should show love and affection to all, regardless of race, gender, religion, and everything else that tends to divide humanity. Irving seemingly lives his life with that mindset, and we have seen countless acts of kindness on his part.

Kyrie donated $40,000 to a 93-year-old woman who was being sued to give up her family home. In another instance, Irving donated $65,000 to fundraisers helping the less fortunate. He may have his flaws, but the eight-time All-Star also desires to assist those in need, which is to be commended.

Kyrie Irving Also Shared A Message Explaining Why God Slows You Down At Times

Irving is a firm believer in god and shared another message on Instagram not long after this. It featured a clip of Shoaib Hussain, a motivational speaker, talking about why god slows you down at times.

“Sometimes god slows you down so that evil ahead of you will pass before you get there. Remember that your delay could mean your protection.”

There’s the belief among many that everything happens for a reason. Don’t get too down on yourself when there are setbacks, and think of it as god’s way of protecting you from a situation that could have been far worse.

In Irving’s case, it might be referring in some way to everything the 31-year-old has been through. There have been some tough times in his life, but ultimately, he’s now at the location where he thinks he was meant to be. Kyrie said he wished he’d have gotten drafted by Dallas, but he has now found his way there.

Monty Williams Thinks Kyrie Irving Is Going To Be Fuelled By Disrespectful Rankings Of Him

While Irving’s mindset may be all about helping and showing love off the court on it, he is hellbent on crushing the opposition. Detroit Pistons head coach Monty Williams thinks he might be motivated to go even a level beyond than ever before now. Williams said Kyrie might tear some people up after getting disrespected on ESPN’s player rankings.

“I always crack up when people disrespect great players,” Williams said. “[Last year] it was Russell [Westbrook] and now it’s Kyrie. You know, they put out those silly rankings and I’ve just got to laugh at that. They’re gonna start that dude up, man. He’s gonna tear some people up this year to prove them wrong.”

ESPN’s analysts projected that Irving would be the 34th-best player in the NBA next season, which just seemed bizarre. Kyrie is coming off a season where he averaged 27.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game over the course of 60 games for the Mavericks and the Brooklyn Nets.

His numbers aren’t going to go down, while you’d also expect Dallas to win some more games than they did last season. Combine those factors and I think a fair ranking would have been somewhere in the top 20.
